City of Edmonton Announces New Chief Financial Officer

The City of Edmonton is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Burge as the new Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of Financial Services and Utilities for the City of Edmonton.

Burge first joined the City of Edmonton in 2010 as the Director of Business Planning for Asset Management and Public Works and then as Branch Manager of Financial Services. Burge has been acting as the City’s Chief Financial Officer since January 2015.

“In the years Todd has been with us, he has become an integral member of the City’s senior leadership team, trusted and respected by Council and staff,” says City Manager Simon Farbrother. “He lives the values that are so important to our organization and I know he will lead his department to innovate and serve Edmontonians to the absolute best of their potential.”

Over the more than 20 years of Burge’s career as a Certified Management Accountant, he has held various roles with the Government of Alberta and the City of Fort Saskatchewan.

Burge’s experience with the public sector has focused on infrastructure management, financial reporting and accounting, financial systems, long range financial planning and investment management.

Burge’s official first day as the Chief Financial Officer is May 4, 2015.
